about

Steve Anderson is a Toronto-based singer-songwriter. Originally from West Texas (Lubbock), he has been writing and performing his own songs since the mid-1960s for personal pleasure, family and friends. Steve moved to Canada in 1981 and had a full career as a professor at the University of Toronto. After retirement in 2018 he began devoting more time to his lifelong musical interests, including the bucket-list dream of recording some of his own compositions with professional musicians. This led to this album of ten favorites composed between 1968 and 2021. The album would not have happened without the encouragement, musical talents and production skills of Toronto musicians James McKie and Tim Bovaconti. The selection of songs samples the diversity of Steve’s song catalogue—songs that are variously whimsical, wistful and existential. Thanks for listening!
